Tuesday Armchair Quarterback: Week 4 Rankings

I’m sick this week, so the usual pomp and frills will have to be discarded in favor of a more straightforward ranking.

The Big Six

  1. Denver (4-0)
  2. Seattle (4-0)
  3. New Orleans (4-0)
  4. Green Bay (1-2)
  5. San Francisco (2-2)
  6. New England (4-0)

Everyone with a Playoff Shot

  1. Cincinnati (2-2)
  2. Miami (3-1)
  3. Detroit (3-1)
  4. Chicago (3-1)
  5. Carolina (1-2)
  6. Houston (2-2)
  7. Kansas City (4-0)
  8. Indianapolis (3-1)
  9. Atlanta (1-3)
  10. Dallas (2-2)
  11. Baltimore (2-2)

The Fringe of Competitiveness

  1. San Diego (2-2)
  2. Tennessee (3-1)

Nice to Know Ya

  1. Cleveland (2-2)
  2. Philadelphia (1-3)
  3. Buffalo (2-2)
  4. NY Giants (0-4)
  5. Pittsburgh (0-4)
  6. NY Jets (2-2)
  7. Minnesota (1-3)
  8. Washington (1-3)
  9. Oakland (1-3)
  10. Arizona (2-2)
  11. Tampa Bay (0-4)
  12. St. Louis (1-3)

Abandon All Hope

  1. Jacksonville (0-4)

The 7 to 17 tier in my rankings is very interchangeable. The fact that teams 7 through 14 in last week’s rankings went 0-7 this week (Carolina was off) didn’t help. I just have no clue, so please don’t berate me if you think I misplaced one or two of those teams. The difference between them is about as minimal as it can be between 11 teams in the NFL.
