In less than 12 24 hours, the free agent period officially kicks off. Come midnight 4 PM EDT teams can “officially” make offers to free agents (after a three-day “you’re allowed to tamper but you’re not allowed to make offers or sign anyone” period, the NFL’s vague way of acknowledging that tampering exists while trying to create hype for a signing day).

The mock will stop at the end of three rounds, since that’s where compensatory picks will be assigned and those can change the whole makeup of the draft.

(Editor’s note: As I was writing this round, news of the Percy Harvin trade broke. Once the final compensation is settled, I will be editing my mock to reflect that.)

63. Kansas City Chiefs – Tyler Wilson, QB, Arkansas

I just don’t believe the Chiefs are going to fully commit to Alex Smith long-term.

64. Jacksonville Jaguars – David Amerson, CB, North Carolina St.

I don’t believe the Jaguars have faith in Blaine Gabbert, either, but they just have too many holes.

65. Detroit Lions – Phillip Thomas, S, Fresno St.

They need to replace Louis Delmas if he walks (and find someone to play next to him if he doesn’t).

66. Oakland Raiders – Jordan Poyer, CB, Oregon St.

The secondary has been in a great state of upheaval.

67. Philadelphia Eagles – Dallas Thomas, G/T, Tennessee

Need offensive line help badly.

68. Cleveland Browns – Tyler Bray, QB, Tennessee

They aren’t going to let Weeden go into the season as the unchallenged starter.

69. Arizona Cardinals – Joseph Randle, RB, Oklahoma State

They need to find someone who can handle the featured-back role.

70. Tennessee Titans – Logan Ryan, CB, Rutgers

Part of a continued secondary overhaul.

71. Buffalo Bills – Vance MacDonald, TE, Rice

They got an upgrade at WR, now they get one at TE.

72. New York Jets – Markus Wheaton, WR, Oregon St.

They’ve got to bring in some more talent on offense to be competitive.

73. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – John Simon, DE, Ohio St.

They need depth here, with Adrian Clayborn and Da’Quan Bowers as constant injury worries, and Michael Bennett likely not returning.

74. San Francisco 49ers (from Carolina) – Stedman Bailey, WR, West Virginia

Need some consistent threats in the passing game besides Crabtree and Davis.

75. New Orleans Saints – Brandon Williams, DT, Missouri Southern State

He’s been linked to the Saints for a long time and would give them a long-term player at the 3-4 nose tackle.

76. San Diego Chargers – Ryan Swope, WR, Texas A&M

They’ve got to get receivers who aren’t undrafted free agents or other team’s castoffs. Swope’s 40 time has him rising fast.

77. Miami Dolphins – Khaseem Greene, OLB, Rutgers

They could use a player at 4-3 linebacker.

78. St. Louis Rams – Bacarri Rambo, S, Georgia

The word is that Quintin Mikell is gone, and Fisher has never shied away from potential headcases.

79. Pittsburgh Steelers – Robert Alford, CB, Southeastern Louisiana

Solid prospect at a position they could use help.

80. Dallas Cowboys – Montee Ball, RB, Wisconsin

Maybe not the best fit, but I have a feeling Jerry will like the thought of him as a bruiser to pair with DeMarco Murray.

81. New York Giants – D.J. Swearinger, S, South Carolina

Need a replacement if Kenny Phillips leaves.

82. Miami Dolphins (from Chicago) – Bennie Logan, DT, LSU

Gives them a player to rotate in and eventually replace Randy Starks.

83. Minnesota Vikings – Ryan Nassib, QB, Syracuse

Christian Ponder has been put on notice.

84. Cincinnati Bengals – Trevardo Williams, OLB, Connecticut

Their LB situation is iffy, especially if they let Rey Maluauga walk.

85. Washington Redskins – Travis Frederick, C/G, Wisconsin

Upgrades their interior offensive line.

86. Indianapolis Colts – Shamarko Thomas, S, Syracuse

Well, they need help basically everywhere, so I tried to give them the best player available.

87. Seattle Seahawks – Terron Armstead, OT, Arkansas-Pine Bluff

He’s been rocketing up the board since his combine, and he could solidify the offensive line by letting James Carpenter move inside.

88. Green Bay Packers – Andre Ellington, RB, Clemson

Another attempt to give the team a legitimate running game.

89. Houston Texans – T.J. McDonald, S, USC

Texans lack depth at the safety position.

90. Denver Broncos – Aaron Dobson, WR, Marshall

Still looking to upgrade here behind Thomas and Decker.

91. New England Patriots – Marquise Goodwin, WR/KR, Texas

Gives them a big special-teams playmaker and someone else to fill out the depth if they lose any of Lloyd, Welker, or Branch.

92. Atlanta Falcons – Travis Kelce, TE, Cincinnati

Will be the eventual– or immediate, if he retires– replacement for Tony Gonzalez.

93. San Francisco 49ers – B.W. Webb, CB, William & Mary

Biggest area of need that hasn’t been addressed yet. Webb may take a little time to develop but has potential.

94. Baltimore Ravens – Tyrann Mathieu, CB, LSU

They have enough talent in the secondary that Mathieu won’t have to play a starting role; they can find a low-pressure spot for his playmaking abilities to thrive.
